mine has fuel sucking Carter mechanical secondary 4bbl on them, although I was able to find new floats that matched up with some model 1967 dodge.... go figure marine industry a few years behind,,huh go figure.
Any way I looked at replacing them and possibly using an -A-daptor kit by Mr.Gasket. Here is the link although I dont know if it is the right one.

I think they made the Quadrajets as a form of acupuncture for the seventies GM v8's, or maybe they saw the new honda motorcycle coming to market with the reliable mikuni mainjet needle setup and figured if one was good on that little thing then "10" needles must be better for our caddie??????
Ok Ill stop now, ,,,,Actually I dont know alot about them, I was a hard core Holly hotrod head in high school, but this good old Carter on my 318s seem to be ok, big n rich performance when cold.

Or maybe that you love them because they perform well, are reliable, etc.?
Yes, they can run reliably without doubt... and can perform well.

The point I'm trying to make is that folks who aren't cozy with them can be intimidated by them. Since I grew up with them in family cars and have worked on them for many years, I feel comfortable repairing and adjusting them.

I learned to never take a life long river cruiser to the Great Lakes and not expect some fuel problems! First time I ever saw a Quadajet perking gas from all outlets.....lol (twice!) Yea I know it wasn't the carbs fault that I didn't install big enough fuel filters....

You've gotta be tough if you're gonna be STUPID!
