You should be able to pull the shaft part of the coupler with an appropriate puller. Beacon referes this as a light press. Whatever it is tight. The puller you diagrammed should pulle it, It is easier if the bolt has fine threads. Though still not easy but should come off.

this link covers getting the tranny coupling off. He also has instructions/photos on how to remove the cutlass bearings once shaft is out. I cut them off. Putting them back on with a homemade press went very easily with a little bar soap rubbed on them. No need to heat and cool and all that other stuff.
You gonna have to get boat up a little higher. i had same problem, but just had boat yard move it to where the landscape allowed clearance.
I've done it, getting the tranny coupler on and off takes some force. Not difficult, but a lot of elbow grease, especially tapping that thing back on from inside the boat. I tried BobCT method, but had to hit shaft so hard from prop side I was scared I would hurt the shaft (bend it). So I went on motor side and tapped it on...a very lil bit at a time.
Do a search, I posted my steps thru the project I think.
