76 Trojan 26 rudder

Post by bslickwilly »

I have just inherited a 76 26 Express Cruiser (hardtop) w a bent rudder. Failed attempts at removal ended w the rudder post being cut at the bottom of the rudder port as a last resort. I now obviously need a new rudder assembly. The existing rudder #13-162 was painfully inadequate in terms of size (6x12). Does anyone know of a suitable replacement? The shaft is 1" dia. and 14 1/2" long.

I'd start with Beacon ...
Captain Ross, 2009 Trojan Boater of the Year
"Viva Mahia" F32 Cummins 6BTA diesels,
"Mack Attack" Chaparral 244 Fish, SeaPro 180, McKee 14, Montauk-17

They are the guys who own the web site that this Forum hangs off of... http://www.trojanboats.net/default.html ... they are perhaps the best source of Trojan information and parts, and they perform some servicing as well.

Even if they don't have what you are looking for on their web site, call them anyways as they have or can get more than they advertise.
