Thank you Paul. Let's just say that you are literally standing on the engines at the salon. When the previous owner did the conversion? My guess is they did not measure or allow for enough clearance to add a filter "box" on top of the engines. I have a screen filter and about 2 inches of clearance from the engines to the floor on the salon. I have owned the boat for about 6 months and I love it. It is THE most economical, powerful and reliable boat I have ever owned as a licensed Capt.

My only complaint with the boat is noise but I'm working on improving the design to lower noise in the salon and out the exhaust.

Welcome to the forum...Nice looking Trojan!
I noticed you are a licensed Capt. and was wondering if you know of anybody needing a Capt? I presently hold a 50-ton master with Tow Assist and MROP. After 1 more hitch in the Oil Patch I will be getting my 100 ton master. Any sugestions?

Thanks, Rick - F-36 / MissKitty

Believe it or not mine are closer to the floor In-line 6 but still wide . Do you still had saddle tanks in the salon ? The engines look to wide for them . I wonder if you could make a duct to a side mount air box or filter ? Them 2 stroke diesels can make some noise even with a air box

Nice Boat Fireranger, welcome to the forum. My wife and I live in Orange park and have enjoyed our F26 for three years now.
Here we are in Silver Glenn Springs last month.
We should get together for a cruise soon.

Roy what a cool little boat! Is it trailerable? It would take me quite a bit to get to the Glenn from Jax. LOL I hope we hook-up with more North Florida Trojan owners!!!! :D

I tell you whats killing our business Rick. All the sales people from major boat dealer brands like Marine Max, Sea-ray Etc. Etc. You have a lot of clowns that call themselves Capt. and are not properly licensed or don't have the proper credentials at all. Most Capts before/during 2008 were not able to pass the background screening for the TWIC card. The Coast Guard sent letters to all letting them know if you were not able to get the TWIC card? Your credentials are null and void.

Do what I did Rick...spend a little money on a nice cruiser were you can carry 12 passengers or less. Clean it up and charter it for party cruises at an affordable price and your gonna have fun and make a little money at it too. LOL

YES, I still have fuel tanks in the salon and one below the back deck. There are a couple of options Im exploring for reducing the noise. My friends at the marina tell me I should join the Offshore Performance Club so I can then run with boats louder than mine. LMAO

I will tell you this though...my heart "lights-up" when I hear them Detroits come to life!

i LOVE the sound of detroits! yesterday morning a 1976 bertram 46 was heading to the fuel dock up river. i believe she has GM 6-71'S. she was running at about 6kts, blue smoke coming from the exhausts and that tell tale rumble of gm diesels. yeahhhhhhh!!!!

Rick already has the same boat , The problem is with 12 passengers or less you get in to "Inspected passenger vessel" area and getting the it done can be a lot of work and money . I would keep it at 6 or less and not worry about it . 12 (plus crew)is a lot of people on a F36 .
