I found out something interesting by accident. The teak trim around the countertop edges has a metal banding in the center of the trim. Mine looked like hell as I'm sure most of them do by now.
I planned on sanding along with the rest of the teak so I could put on some Cetol. What I found out was the "metal" is actually a thin foil type piece glued to what I think is copper underneath.
I peeled that layer off and then sanded down the teak and mystery metal until they were flush. The results are amazing. It looks like teak with a dark wood insert. I did two coats of Cetol over the whole thing and it's a huge improvement.
I'm getting hauled today and will do a video walk though of the whole boat, I owe a bunch of you guys pics on specific project I've done.

Funny, these boats have been out of production for 20 years and most of us own boats far older than that.
Members here on the FOrum are acattered all ovet the country, no the world - let's not forget PK- The Norweigan Trojan.
I believe the peer support we ceate for our mutual benefit here far surpasses ANYTHING you could get from most boat builders still in business.
Try calling teh Sea Ray factory in Tennessee and see what thay say to your question about the waste water tank on your 1978 boat.
ALthough I'm sure they have a Forum somewhere, these old Trojans are SURVIVORS - a testamant to thier design, engineering, build and the Amish workmanship.
On a percentage basis, I would guess that this BRAND has far more survivors than most.
The problem with being long in the tooth is the increased level of maintenance and repair that comes with it.
That's why this group is so very valuable and important.
My own formica countertops are tired as well, (not mid cabin) they are all curved so it will be a total remove and refit project that I can ill afford at this time.
