Yeh I saw it. Reads like stereo instructions though. Esp. the part about TRJ numbering convention. Pretty clear about the metal data plate though.

So according to your explanation of the numbering convention I have hull 8911 dropped in June of 1978. So that gives the impression that about 100 hulls got dropped in between yours and the one I just bought. Clearly they were cranking along pretty good over there in Lancaster in winter '77/spring '78. I doubt too many if any manufacturers are seeing that kind of demand now with the current economic conditions.

My F-32 hull number is TRJ088011177.

So, it appears it was 'dropped' in November, 1977.

Does 'dropped' mean it came out of the mold?

Hi Michael, thats an argument :D

Image Image

That ther are differences between formerly Nancy's 78'er and ours - you are right !

My be the vessel was build in 76' - bought from any exhibition in the States by an former member of the US-Army stationed in West-Berlin, and he needed 2 years to bring her to Germany and register it first in 1978.

Could that be

Sounds like your hull and Ready 123's hull went thru the plant together. Cool stuff.

Hi Heiner,
The HIN is placed at the factory when the fibreglass is laidup in the mould... so it is a 1976 built hull and model boat.
Doesn't matter when it was registered in Germany it is still a 1976 build and model.... as can be seen clearly from the helm instrument panel it is not a 1978 layout.

Yes Heiner. There are subtle differences throughout the production run. Putting those lower helm photos side by side like you did really shows some of those changes. That was how it first occured to me that you must have a earlier than 1978 model.

So it looks like you have a 1976. It sounds like your papers say its a 1978. It could be something simple like a mistake on paper when it was brought to Germany. Its probably no problem for you, but maybe you will have it changed on your papers if its an easy thing to do.

Now that you have it on the hard for the winter, do you have some projects that you are planning to do? Scrub that running gear maybe?

Hey Heiner,

Beacon Marine can produce, and sell to you, the original purchase docs for that hull. I have not bought them for my boat yet, but I intend to.

Very similar lower helm to ours.

Only confusion is believing what the owner says
It is an F32 and is not a 1978 model just from the visuals. Only way to be sure is to see the HIN.... which is how we confirmed what your's was.
