Who says you can't fish on a Tri Cabin

Post by rbcool »

Went out this morning in 4-5 footers, only ones out there. Had a blast!! The sad part was, and Jamie will understand this, we caught a working group of birds, limited out in 30 minutes and sadly had to leave.

Thems don't look like 4-5 footers waves. :)

Now when you say you caught a fish this--------BIG. I'll be scrutinizing :)

Kidding aside, wish I could do the same, unfortunately she is in bed for the next 6 months.

Enjoy !!!!!!

If I had a live well I would release, I just throw them on ice.
I've thought many times about outriggers, but they just wont work onthe Tri
When we first went out it was SCA, shoulda been Gale  , took the pic when it was alittle safer to shoot

All in all, I love the way a Trojan handles the rough stuff!!!

In the first pic, what's holding that rod from flying off into the water? Looks like it is almost parallel to the water?

I go perching all year long on the Tri-Cabin. Nothing like going down to nap or having the kids take a nap.

The perch love the genny.. Limits a plenty this year. Cannot way until spring.

I troll for salmon, steelhead, and lake trout in Lake Michigan on our tri-cabin. I can't use down riggers but use dipsy rods and long line. Works great and my tri runs at 2.5 to 2.8kts with both engines at idle.

It is straight out and almost level, it helps keep the lure out away from the boat. Forward motion holds the rod in very secure. When you get a 40" + fish on it's sometimes hard to get the rod out
