Looks nice Paul. When does the teak floor get installed in the cabin???

I know that your helm seat is comfortable and I bet that it takes up less floor space that the original folding seat as well. Did you make the foot rest yourself? Since I've been considering one of these for my helm as well, I'd like to know if you think that a tall pedestal like that is secure enough on its own or if there should also be a standoff attaching it to the side wall?

Nice Work :D

Hi Paul....no floor yet. As you can see I've been getting sidetracked...lol.
I always ask my wife which of the things on my list she would rather I do next.
The helm chair is so much better then the original Trojan set up. To be truthful the pedestal / chair combination is pretty decent for strength. It does have a slight movement under rougher weather when you are sitting in the heightened position. Not to the point where I'm going to fabricate a standoff, although that was a big consideration during installtion.

I designed the foot rest, yes...had a friend in the business weld the aluminum for me and I made and installed the HDPE plate. Of the couple of places I could find them for sale, they wanted hundreds of $$$....made mine for $60... 8)

Hey G36...My cabin ceilings were done new just before I purchased the boat.

If you ask Michael - ready 123....or do a search the cabin ceiling fabric you will find your answers.

I remember a thread / conversation back this summer about it...ready123 was really helpful.

Oh, my apologies. That material is more or less an automotive type black carpet with a weave on the back. Not very thick. The edges don't fray. Works excellent for this type of application. Commercial adhesive (liquid nails) type stuff to adhere to the hull & plywood portions of the lower cabinetry.

Can be found at the textile /mill stores...cuts with a blade or strong pair of scissors. Not sure US wise, specifically where to buy it.

Have had dozens of compliments from those who have seen it.

Hope this helps.
