But how much time have the blocks had in the water before rebuild and after . Salt or fresh ? time is more relevant then running hours in this case .

Tipically RAW cooled engines in salt water will last about 15 years before blocks start rusting through.

Next question ,,,,The shark gill vents on the side mid and aft has anyone re-done these or replaced them or just done away with them. reason is on my friends f32 he had his tied up for lunch one day and a stringed on a pier grabbed it and messed it up (F_IT UP) .. in my mind its just a soft spot lookin to be found and made a mess of. I know that they are vents for the fuel compt. so what can be done with them???

Correct deployment of fenders should prevent this. My middle fender is positioned to be just aft of the mid one and my aft fender is adjacent to the aft vent. I have had no instances with mine in 5 years.
Only problem I had with mine when I got my F32 was one of the fins had broken it's weld & another was missing.... easily repaired by my local Aluminium fab shop.

Before you run out and get the packing , what size shafts do you have ? Different sizes shafts can call for different size packing , I don't believe all F32s had the same shafts .
