boat monitoring system

i wondered if any out there have used or installed a boat monitoring system such as boat nanny or sea key etc. on their beloved trojan? if so what do you think about it or other thoughts.

Where I'm at, in a covered slip with folks always around, no real problems. If there is an issue with the boat, the marina will take action and call. The only thing I think is really neat about the monitoring systems, is that if you are cruising on a trip, someone at home can monitor your postion anytime via a computor...

Otherwise, can't justify the $$$$$$$$$$$$

Are you looking for full-blown monitoring of bilge pumps, battery levels, etc... , or just position tracking (in the event of it being stolen or 'borrowed' by someone at the marina?)

thanks captainmaniac for also responding. i'm looking at a monitoring system that will just monitor like bilge water, ac and/or dc power ,cabin/engine room temp etc. not really tracking the boat if stolen. at my dock even though people pass the boat daily no one would do a thing if it started taking water or anything they would just pass on by. so for my peace of mind i have been looking and reading.i have also found a new product called boatsense that is about half the cost of the boatnanny and does a very similar job at the items i can monitor with it. i had wondered if any one had used any of these systems or similar

The last boat I had, I had installed a Radio Shack alarm dialer that would call 3 numbers when triggered. It was reliable and cheap - had to be connected to a dockside phone line. The thought was that if I got a message, I could call the marina office to get someone to check on the boat.
