Sad Trojan F36

Post by 297Elegante »

So I visited a local boat yard and was told an F36 in the back was slated to be destroyed. From below it looked neglected but had potential. Upon boarding she was trashed. Sadly the boats name was "Pride N Joy". All decks rotted, the bridge deck was scary. Cabin had more animals and bees taking up residence (not in the cold but the signs were there). It was sad to see it honestly. It was however the first F36 I had ever been on. Nice layout and roomy!

Always a tragedy. I always wonder what happened that would cause her to get in that bad of shape. Guess they could salvage the engines, trannies, and other salvageable parts.

it's always sad to see fine boats just end up being junk...this week I pulled in to a run down marina the going to be re-done it has a F32 and a 3207 AC and 28 Rivera that guys just walked away from them years ago. The rats and coons have just tore them up and they're full of water...It makes me sad .........but then I do look at all the parts I'm going to pull, If they get the title on the F32 I'll put the parts out here....cost will be shipping....

Would be nice to see some parts of her help to bring another boat back to life. Too bad she's not close to me, I'd love to get my hands on her.
She was a 1969 36 ft wooden beauty with big blue 440s that we'll miss forever.

had a couple of pm's on parts from the F32, it'll be awhile before we have ownership of her she's a USCG boat which makes it harder..but I'll keep the pm's and as I can I'll check out the parts.....the Waterman down here have been pickin' at her..that's been stopped....

I could possibly obtain parts from the F36, although I told myself I would only buy parts from this marina to use not resell. It would be a shame though for it to be trashed and none of it saved.

This boat is located at a marina in Portland CT. I actually asked about it as a potential project maybe 6 months ago and was told it was unsafe and will be destroyed. The marina at the time did not entertain "selling" the boat, but they also did not know me. I have since met the manager although I am unsure if that may change their choice on whether the boat can be sold or not.

454's could be worth something if they aren't junk.

There appeared to be quite a bit on the boat that is salvagable. Structurally from what you could see she needed a lot of work, and it has been neglected for years. I'm unsure how that would equate to the running gear.
