you might contact Bob Smith at American Diesel and see if they can help on the diesels
http://www.amerdsl.com/

4000 hours on a nturally aspirated diesel isnt that high, if you could get an accurate oil oil sample it would help, if the engine oil has been recently changed, you may not get the true story, I am sure Paul could give you more on this.

We have a lot of JD engines in industrial service in our company, they are bullet proof, Lugger and norther lights use the base engines for their marine products.

A few other regular posters should consider it as well. They have been on here long enough to see how valuable this forum is.

Com point obviously didn't know the site when it had advertising, pop-ups and such. Personally I kinda miss the half-naked Russian Chicks dating site ads.

But seriously..... the small price is well worth it !!!

There is a 36 here on the Chesapeake...1984 I believe, for 39,000. Boat looks great...needs new tanks. Twin Lehmans. I love the boat...but my perfect GB is the Europa with a single. These boats handle great with single screw.
