I knew you'd figure it out being the savi 36 tri historian you are. Just waiting for a cash infusion that I've been working on for the past 10 months to come thru before i pull the trigger. I've been all over that boat with a fine tooth comb and she is just about as good as they get. One little soft spot on the port deck at the front edge of where the cabin window stops...no biggie. She is a good one though, no?? I hope she will wait for me. Question, How the heck do I pay my admittance to this show?aaronbocknek wrote:i know the one.MadBen wrote:Hi Aaron, Not that one...don't care for the last model year layout as much.
Don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet but it is a 1985 model in exceptional condition. Your a smart guy, I'm sure you can figure it out. One more hint...it has an aluminum arch and looks like yours. Thats all i'm gonna say 'till I get a contract on it. Thanks for the welcome![]()

As Vice Commodore this year one of my duties is planning the Yacht Clubs' summer cruises and I'm thinking of the Solomons. Any recommendations?

I kept my tri fly at Crisfield for 3 years when I owned her. H dock I think...We had a weekend place there at the time. I love that marina...and town. I saw your boat this summer in fact. She's a beaut!! You are on the floating docks...no? I am at Solomons Beacon on a Holiday Mansion right now. Not a real boat but it works for now. We are between Spring Cove and Zanhizers. Our transient rates are the lowest in Solomons and given a little notice, we can accomodate a club very well. Just let me know if you need any help, I've been here for 28 years and have maybe a little pull. We aren't fancy but we have a nice pool, hotel and restaurant on the premises. Other great choices are Spring Cove and Zanhizers...though Zanhizers tends to like sailboaters and cruising trawlers a little better than regular good time boaters...Cha ching if you know what I mean...nice place none the less.

the 'soft spot' on the deck at the forward corner of the window frame is not unique. i have a similar situation on the starboard side, same area. this was a problem with these window frames. over time, the lower corners develop 'burn thru' from water that collects in the area. i discovered a major leak dripping into my forward locker after i bought the boat. i gradually filled it with creepy crack cure then using an infusion of of resin and acitone (helps with the flow and makes it dry fast). i filled the area with this and so far, so good, no leak. once that area is 'dry' then the soft spot can be tended to.MadBen wrote:I knew you'd figure it out being the savi 36 tri historian you are. Thanks Ben!! That's pretty wild you were hunkered down here for awhile. When??
I am on floating pier, you should have stopped by, no doubt I had cocktail in hand and would have enjoyed sharing with a fellow Tri owner

I know what you mean about places like Zanhizers

If your ever going to be down here again give me a shout, and I'll no doubt be contacting you in the future

On the Solomons . We had no issuse with sail boaters at Zahnisers But there are a lot there for sure . and yes it is $$$$
Calvert Marina aross the creek is 1.00 per foot Boat us .
I got a up date on Spring cove , I do not know there rates
Here is the email :
Paul – we decided not to reopen the Gull – too many restaurants in the area now. We have a pool bar instead and are planning burgers etc around the pool on weekends. But more importantly we have a courtesy, on demand customer shuttle to take you to whatever restaurant you want! Everyone loved it last year.
Look forward to seeing you back at Spring Cove.

Some folks I know won't head back to Spring Cove since the Naughty Gull closed. I heard that Trevor put the screws to the Gull's owner in a few ways, which forced her to closed the doors. It was a fun place and good food.

That would be pretty accurate unfortunatley...Spring Cove is still a very nice place though. You have the Captians Table easy walking distance at the Solomons Beacon where I am. Great food and a decent bar!Stripermann2 wrote:Some folks I know won't head back to Spring Cove since the Naughty Gull closed. No doubt about it-Spring Cove it is a very nice marina. The showers are one of the cleanest and spacious I've seen, the ship store, pool and overall accomodations are right on. On a side note, they have a bunch of picnic tables in the common area. A few years back, our yacht club was having a crab feast while staying at their marina for the weekend....they charge 100.00 per table.MadBen wrote:That would be pretty accurate unfortunatley...Spring Cove is still a very nice place though. I suppose Trevor has to make a buck wherever he can...?
