Panel Lights Switch - Why 3 Position?

Post by Natchamp »

Hey guys,

I have my dash apart and I'm trying to identify the switches I need to replace. Since everything is apart I can't figure this out.

The panel lights switch has 4 connectors and is 3 position. Other than off and on, what's the 3rd position do? Anyone know?

One example is the nav/anchor light...in one position you have power to one lamp, then power to another as the switch is thrown the the other position.
