It looks like my boat. My boat is a 1971 Model 231 F26. I have the original manual. PM me if you would like me to forward any information.summer storm wrote:Is this your boat? The Dog House wrote:I like the layout. When you say the model started in 1975, you mean the flybridge model? I have a 1971 F26, but it's not a flybridge.
The one above (my book page) is a 261 which I think launched in 1975, is this correct?
In the book I think I will add a page indexing the boats, the F36 for example is 4 different boats, the sedan, sportfisherman, tricabin, and tri flybridge

thanks, If you have any specs, photos, or floor plans That would greatly help me. By the way do you know if that boat was built in Canada? I think it was but I am not sure. The Dog House wrote:It looks like my boat. My boat is a 1971 Model 231 F26. I have the original manual. Here are the two HIN's I came up with, slight difference, obviously one is a typo, boat is in a field with a couple feet of snow around it. For now, here they are. TRJAN004G586 and TRJAH004G586, hope this helps, I have tried to look the bot up before, there is no reference to an '86 in the red books? that I searched.

You might want to touch base with Bob from Beacon. Your numbers don't resemble any of these.Muskokan345 wrote:Here are the two HIN's I came up with, slight difference, obviously one is a typo, boat is in a field with a couple feet of snow around it. I have emailed Bob, and will post his response. I am pretty sure it is an F26, measured differently. Like I mentioned before though, there is no mentin of the boat, either a 1986 F26, of 1986 F27. There has been a short thread here earlier, 'cause a few of us own these boats, and just wondered what the deal was.

This is a thread from last year, where a few of us F27 owners chimed in, seems the F27 does exist!

here is a yachtworld advert for a trojan 1986 270 express. i guess it's a marketing thing w/a few cosmetic changes. looks the same as the f-26.

The F-26 has been around since 1971. At that time, they also made a true 25 called the Sea Raider. It was f/glass but wood superstructure. The original incarnation of the F-26 had a different style cabin and a V-Drive. Then, I believe in 1973 came the F-25/26 which I think are identical and had direct drives. The differences are just marketing...I think ...the F-27 is also the same boat. In the late 80's when Trojan was marketing the "Classic" series, they just tagged it the F-27. I'm pretty sure I have this right but I'm sure someone will chime in if I am off on this.

Thanks for the info, it really helps confirm what I have been finding. One thing though is I think the F-25 and F-26 are different boats. the factory specs show the F-25 as 25'5" and the F-26 as 26'4" LOA. I also think you are right about the F-27 being a marketing thing for the classic series.MadBen wrote:The F-26 has been around since 1971. Looks like that one has had a recent overhaul too, but as with most things you never get out what you put in money wise on projects like that. That being said I think its priced around double what its worth in todays market, triple if it hadn't been done over so recently. There is lots of decent F25/26's to be had in the 6-8k range.aaronbocknek wrote:here is a yachtworld advert for a trojan 1986 270 express. i guess it's a marketing thing w/a few cosmetic changes. looks the same as the f-26.
