lunair A/C problem

I just bought a 1987 10 meter international express and am trying to figure out how stuff works (previous owner abandoned). I have a Lunaire self contained ac unit. When i turn the switch on the control panel to heat the unit's red light turns on and it blows warm air. raw water is also going thru system cause it is coming out the thru hull. fan also works. however, when i switch to a/c the red light doesn't turn on and the air doesn't cool. can anyone help? even if it needed to be recharged or was broke, i would think the red light would still turn on?

I have the same boat with the same ac. The redlight only comes on when the compressor kicks in when using the ac. The fan will run the whole time but the compressor will turn on and off. try turning the temp down to the lowest setting and see if it kicks on.
