I pass that boat yard at least twice a day(all American Boat Storage). I can see two Hatt's from the street. 1) is about a 36-40 foot S/F and the other is an older MV that looks closer to 60 feet. If I get a chance I'll stop in and ask about the $2000 Hatt.

Went by the boat yard today. I saw the two Hatt's previously mentioned and a possible third that looked like it was worth $2000. No one around to talk to about it on site.

In all seriousness, Trojans are not selling well in Illinois on Lake Michigan or in Michigan.

They may be selling but the prices are in the toilet. You dont even wanna know. . .

If anyone is seriously looking for a Trojan - think Midwest, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, or Indiana where we only can use the boat 6 months out of the year.

Bertram prices are in the toilet too in the Midwest.

I like Trojans but my dream has always been to own a Bertram.

So is it OK if I buy a Bertram and name it "The Trojan"??

Who am I kidding. . . if I ever ever get a Bertram. . . she will be named "At Last"

Interesting story, although hugely off topic.

When I was 16-18 years old I worked at a gokart track. One of the older employees (in his 30s or so) who had worked there, but quit, came down one day with a 1963 split window Vette. Yes, he had been a gokart track eomployee, and was driving a 63 split window.

Of course curiosity got to me and I asked about the car. As he claimed, it was actually the cover car for a large car magazine in 1962, introducing the split window. It had maybe 1000-1500 original miles, and was still wearing the original tires (from what he claimed).

He told me he had a wealthy uncle who was a collector, and when he passed away, the car and his others were his.

What shocked me, was that night, after we closed (around 11-12) he proceeded to head to the parking lot and do some larg burnouts with the car... To this day that night sticks in my head.

Sorry for the hijack, just the thoughts this gokart track worker was doing that to a 63 split window, and one probably worth a lot, still haunts me.
