WOW! Jeff, you're a better(and more enthusiastic) man than I am. Glad to see someone love an old Trojan that much, I think most would have scrapped her. I just hope you don't sink so much into her that you dont make your $$ back when you want too move up. Keep up the good work and take your wife out for dinner, god knows she deserves it!!

Glad to see the pump arrived Jeff. Just my way to pay it forward to others that are obsessed with boats. If I find other parts I'll let you know.
BTW I had a 1971 Luhrs that I did the same thing to, everyone said it would be in the backyard for 2yrs. I was done and in the water in 4 months. There is nothing like the satisfaction of doing your own work.

ahhhh LUHR'S I love them, I found an 1989 34 ft that needed alot of work, but he still wanted 20g. I didnt want to work on the water tho or cough up 20g and have to pay 20g more into work. Hey BTW i noticed you sent me more gaskets. does it need to be broke down and redone? Or is it ready to go? I wish you would let me pay that UPS bill, if not Im sure I will get you back one day :D

Gaskets are left overs.Pump has been rebuilt, just put old package in for reference part number for down the road. Shipping was only $14.00, if you want to pay thats fine,if not still good. My Luhrs was a 28 ft. flybridge model with a 318 single. Liked that boat so much I bought the same type but newer (1976) after selling the first.

sweet so you have a Trojan and a Luhr? I really liked the 34 ft luhr I looked at. It was very intimidating to me but set up so different than the trojan IMO. its was very nice.. checks on the way. is this your address?

Jeff, fooferb is correct. That quote is from the movie JAWS. Chief Brody can't stand to be on the water! Hooper (played by Richard Dryfus) states" If you can't stand the water, why do you live on an island"? and the Chief says.........

finally, compression check tonight! got some new tools, just waiting for the wifey to get home. She wants to help. hopefully I can spin this over fast enough with an electric impact to get some numbers on the new gauge. Since my neighbor is playing the I cant remember to bring the stuff home act. This one cylinder has been soaking in oil for almost 3 weeks now. either that ring is free'd up or Im digging deeper and choosing wich long block is in better shape. Fingers crossed, hurry up woman!!!
