i tried to order 2 thermostats from marine parts source. they have been on back order for over 6 months. and the guy said he didnt know when or if he would get any. :cry: know of any other place to try?

i did. dont think he has the right one. i found some at go2marine just a few min. ago. now on to the next part search...

Aren't they just 140deg thermostats for a 318?

I bet the local NAPA has them ... mine has a lot of marine stuff. As someone else mentioned, sometime you have to find an old (as in age) parts guy who knows how to find a specific part based on his knowledge that the part might go in a certain 80s' truck or something.

The young guys .. yikes. I went into O'Reilly Auto Parts a while back and asked the kid for battery acid. He asked, "For what?"

NAPA and Car Quest are good ones the hit.

went Advance Auto asked if they carried 4D's and guess what I was shown .....you got a pack of 4 size D's

Car Quest has been very good at finding what i need. but they tried and couldnt find the thermostats for some reason. but all the electronic ignition parts. they found all those for me. now there getting together the 3 parts to the distributors. the one by me has a boat guy that works there.
