nah. havnt even looked for them yet. the salt water is hard on everything. but it seems there could be steps taken to prevent this kind of corrosion. now when i took these off. there were ground wires attached to them. why is this nessary? when the rudder bracket is grounded also.?

These and the collars are the only pieces of hardware that are actually in hard contact/continuity with the rudder shaft.antlr-king wrote:.... there were ground wires attached to them. why is this nessary? when the rudder bracket is grounded also.?

Maybe you guys missed the cracking and deterioration around the collar screw. If it was mine I'd ditch those without any further thought. No point trying to reuse garbage.

that's good news..antlr-king wrote:yea the one is cracked. both the holes are alittle sloppy. and a bolt is lodged in the other one. i found some for 62 bucks each. so its not a hole lot for 2 new ones compaired to what i've spent so far.

I tend to think you could get a pair made at a good machine shop for less than 62 bux each. They are pretty simple. Thats approaching titanium pricing!antlr-king wrote:yea the one is cracked. both the holes are alittle sloppy. and a bolt is lodged in the other one. i found some for 62 bucks each. so its not a hole lot for 2 new ones compaired to what i've spent so far.

Thats a fair price IMO . I did quick look around and 61.99 was about the best price with a list of $87.82 (Buck Algonquin bronze ). If you keep looking you may be able to fine some thing cheaper . one place was 90.22
