Any metals in this paint?

stripes???? MOFO I dont feel good as it is!!! NO art work going down here LOL. Thats a good ???? Urethane paints like to soak and bite, Soooo assuming you have a relativly clean slate, it will bite, it will soak maybe to much, but a top coat will fix that the weekend after. Never in light , never peel unless u feel like pressure washing in a 1x1 area you cant reach anyway. I think it will do just fine. i think the light grey nancy talks about with white self stick or glued down mats will work good. PLUS 80$ gallon will do bildge twice and the cabin to secure funk!

Cool. I hope you are feeling well enough this weekend to be up to the task. Seems I will be doing boat work this weekend too, but that may just amount to seeing how many beers fit in the fridge and some cleaning. We'll just have to see......

No D its the same paint auto industries use when they paint cars and engine compartments. Its all the same to me. Engine! engine room... an airplane i would think fuel maybe a concern, but not the out skirts of a normal enginge room if you just want to clean up... I could use just base coat and show you guys 15 years from now that its still washable and clean if you care after it. hell I can probly mop it with laytex and you would know LOL

AWSOME!!! cant wait for the mail...dont think my meds allow me to a beer, but I may try if i feel good enough, i doubt it though

LOL so far its off and on, morning till 2pm seem the best time to grind.. we shall see, ok dunno who im kidding, i start treatment friday, but if its a self treatment program, i may just wait till sat around ohhhh say 4 pm? LOL

got a new Velvet drive today for 100$ got bildge paint but decided to make all repairs before applying it, Thanks to the man that led me to the new Tranny! What a good deal and yes it is a good tranny! thanks!! its in the garage now!!

Jeff are you running in salt water? reason I ask is your buddy's comment about expensive marine grade wire. I'm close to the point where I'll be chasing wires but had a different idea. as I'm not in salt water my plan was to use reg house wire as due to the winters this boat will only be in the water from june to oct I wouldnt think I would get problems with such a short season ?

Yea Im in salt all year round once she gets wet, she will stay there, Good to see you by the way, was about to mail you. Your probly OK to do it your way IMO, Me not so much. I will need the protection, and chasing wires is just as much fun as watching the fire department put out the entire marinia when your the idiot LOL//// I need to spend the $. I was gonna run my shore power wire with underground grade and he said no to that as well

You might get problems with your insurance company if something went wrong and an electrical fire broke out. Insurance companies look for any reason to collect premiums, and NOT have to pay them back. Then you would also be on the hook for your neighbours boat as well. (I think)
Just a thought, thinking out loud.

Under no circumstances should you do this unless you want a fire on board! The reason for using marine wire is several fold; tin coated for longevity, surface area for greater load capacity, better insulation for it`s intended environment, and finally, it`s stranded and this is perhaps the most important reason. This gives it flexibility in an ever moving environment so it doesn`t fatigue and break. This is why you won`t find solid wire in a car or house hold appliances either. It`s solid in house hold wiring because the wire is always stationary; no movement, no vibration, minimal insulation, etc etc. Be very careful here. And as Torcan mentioned, it may not be insurable if it`s flagged on a survey.

ahhh finally a deffined explianation.I get it now. I was not going to do it, but it makes alot of sence now! Thanks!! Luckly for me its just a short run with the shore power wire in the F-25. My $ will sink into the other spools

If you have to skimp, don`t get tinned wire. Don`t know if I would do that in a salty environment but....Won`t last as long but ultimately the wallet dictates and as long as it`s in good shape, it`s safe. Did a battery cable job for a guy who had free access to welding cable. It`s good stuff, not tinned but good stranding, good insulation, very flexible, and less costly. If done right with self sealing shrink tubing (glue impregnated) and using closed end lugs where you don`t see the end of the bare cable, you will minimize moisture getting into the cable, and it will last. That was a fresh water app though. At that time, it only came in black, probably still does, so I just used red shrink tubing for the positive ends. But you didn`t hear this from me

to save a buck and still feel sure that you'll be ok think about this, if it's a primary system tinned wire, such has engine, radio and pumps gps secondary systems TV cabin lights and such good auto wire...
