10 meter port lights?

Post by bigrgh »

I have asked this question a while back but other things came up so i could not follow through on the responses so im gonna try again. can i get replacement parts for my portlights? this subject has come up many times and all of those posts seem to deal with a different type of portlight than i have. one of my outer trim rings is broken, can i get parts? my portlights are not metal of any kind. they do not seem to screw/ bolt together from the inside or the outside. the hinged lexan has four quarter turn zues type fasteners and the screen is removable by prying the inner trim/ screen out from the seal. it appears that the lights consist of an outer composite trim ring, an inner composite trim ring which has a groove for the gasket and an inner grove that the screen ring fits into and four pockets that the zues fasteners fit into for holding the lexan closed. i need to replace the outside composite ring, can this be done? any help would be hugely appreciated. sorry no photos, cant figure out how (electronics illiterate)

Had a damaged outer trim ring but was unable to locate a replacement so hd to repair the existing one are paint it instead.

Anl info you find would be appreciated

I am aware that these lites were referred to "footballs" as thier size was unique.

i repaired my broken one out of a blend of epoxy and tiger hair (as I recall) or some other combination of materials.

built it up and worked it down with a DA sander, then painted it.

Unless you know about it and inspect it right up close it's impossible to tell .

I'd really like to replace the white dcck hatches, but that is another topic
