Hi Torcan,

I noticed that the rudder that you have on your boat is the exact same one that I had on my F-26. Stepping it up in size definitely improved the boat's response in tight places. If I remember correctly, you were wondering about this a little while back.

My F26 has a single 318 in it, but twin exhausts out the stern. It pretty much looks exactly like yours on the starboard side, with a mirror image exhaust on the port side. I don't know why, but I always figured the F25 exhaust design would be the same as the F26. I guess I was wrong.

Advance curve for what, a boat or car? Deffinitely not the same. Be careful here!

Seirra marine electronic conversion kit for your application will cost less than that.

That HEI distributor is not ignition protected and can lead to trouble. If you choose to take this route, be sure to use the heavier springs from the curve kit. The light springs will allow your timing to advance too soon and will result in spark knock which could also lead to trouble.

Hope this helps,

So do you have the HEI installed now or have you chosen another option?

Hi Paul

just waiting to Launch, and the mechanic will be using the heavier springs, just as you were saying.
Evidently, there are a few boats here that have this same set-up and they have been trouble free for a quite a few years now.
