the 2 cat 3208 running at 2800 rpm, full throttle I can get to 2400

If the bottom is clean then I would say your way over propped your engine is rated at 2800 rpm and your should be able to turn 2800 rpm as the minimum at full throttle, 2900-2950 would be even better . propped to turn 2400 at wide open is a good way to shorten the life of your engines .

prop it to 2800 + and cruse it around 2400 rpm ( or less) and the engines will treat you right.


First thing of course is make sure the tachs are right.
