Rope Lights on 11 Meter Express help needed

Post by 7421f »

The lights on my stair treads need to be replaced as they are all but burned out. Only 1 or 2 of the bulbs are coming on.

How do I access these for repair/replacement?

Can't help with access, but can advise to go with LED ropes instead; last longer and draw less current.

On my 1985 11 Meter Sedan those stairs are held in place by one screw. You remove that screw and the entire stairs pull away (revealing the hot water heater). Then you have ready access to the back of the stairs and the wiring of those lights.

I can't remember if the lights are mounted from the back or screwed to the stairs from the front. I put quick disconnects in the 2 wires leading to the step lights so that I could remove the stairs from the boat to make working on them easier.
