Replacing bilge blowers

Post by TADTOOMUCH »

Has anyone replaced the old heavy cast aluminum housing type bilge blowers with new ones on their F-32. I've looked at blowers that range from $150 each down to $20 each. I know the CFM I need is about 250 CFM but why are the flange mount so much more than the inline blowers. Any way to adapt the inline blower without removing the old blower?

I took the guts out of the old blower and simply stuck the outlet hose of the new inline blower into the old inlet.

Blower

Post by TADTOOMUCH »

That's exactly what I thought I would do. I could replace the oem blower with a $150.00 blower that is similar or just do as you did and I could replace the inline blower four or five times for the price difference. I think the less expensive inline blower will outlast the boat. Right now mine sounds like a badger is stuck in there and growling to get out.
