insulating the bow against night time water noise

How are you guys insulating your V-births to prevent so much noise from water splashing up against the bow at night while trying to sleep? I have some ideas but you might have a better one. I appreciate your input.

With gas prices the way they are, I would think twice about adding extra weight. In addition, I find some of that noise soothing. It's part of being on the water. I do however have an a.c. fan to generate some white noise as needed. this usually works unless we're in some type of nasty, bumpy environment , then it doesn't matter what you do, you're screwed.

Had this very discussion on another forum a while ago. I think...one solution was to use pool noodles strapped against the bow somehow to help eliminate the slapping of water up against the hull.

Other than that, get rid of the boat, buy a boat with an aft cabin, sleep in the cockpit or the flybridge!

I tried carpeting under the V berth to help absorb some of that noise. It didn't work, however it now makes a great storage area.
