I used a Hurley davit... horizontal to carry my 10 1/2' dinghy and 20 HP 4 cycle motor.

On my Bayliner I carried it like this as I had a 2 cycle engine.... the day the new owner took it away!

Made from aluminum tubing and plate welded together then powder coated in gloss white finish. Brackets that attach to the boat are formed from 316 stainless. Simple block & tackle for lifting.

The boat shown in the picture is an 8 foot Mercury air deck which I replaced this weekend with a Grand 9 foot RIB. Same davits, no problem.

10 foot air floor dink with a 64 pound 10 horse 2 stroke outboard.

I use a St Croix mini Crane (stores under the helm seat)

The crane is mounted on the transom and is used to do two things.

1. set the 64 lb motor on and off the dink with no chance of dropping it

2. to travel with both the dink & outboard intact off the transom using a premade spider web of clips tied to a stainless steel ring. Takes 14 minutes to set up from start to finish, including the crane.

The advantage of the air floor dink is storage and weight. Rolled up it can fit between the port fwd seat and the gunnel, the outboard is in the lazarette and attaches to the crane in a snap.

The air floor dink is a PLANING design. With the 10 horse Merc outboard (built to 12 horse) if can be a great deal of fun.
