Wind is a lot cheaper than gas or diesel I guess. When I was doing a lot of flying, one of our sayings was "Go by air, it's everywhere".

With oil prices falling, I am hoping that gas has peaked for a few months. Out of 250 gallon capacity on the boat, I left about 150 in over the winter and I'm happy I did. At 25gph at cruise, at least I can get away a little before hitting the fuel dock.

I blame it all on those damn pontoon owners !!!! I mean I know we had to do SOMETHING with the old trailer parks but recycling a 77 singlewide trailer into a pontoon was just silly. Thats all you see up here on our river system everybody and their brother has a pontoon boat, and I use the word "boat" loosely.
I own a hunter sailboat h23.5 and its a well built and long lasting vessel with little to no maintance at all other then dumping vast monies in upgrades like plasma tv, new outboard and inverters batts ect, all the creature comforts , the boat itself hasnt cost me a nickle

Looks like Hunter will now survive, bought out by Marlow, and will continue production in FL (not China as speculated): http://www.tradeonlytoday.com/home/5208 ... a-facility

Egg Harbor just bought Silverton.

A Florida group (Tiger International) is still trying to buy Luhrs Corp. and Mainship Corp.

Fountain, which went bankrupt in Jan, is in receivership (Fountain owes more than $53 million to First Capital). Reggie is gone, but suposedly starting "Real Fast Powerboats" ... ;)

Looks like Luhrs is officially done ... selling off all of their manufacturing facilities.

Be interesting to see who picks up the molds (or perhaps they'll be demolished, like Trojan's molds - what a shame!).
