Thanks all.

Final assessment of injuries is as follows:

2 broken vertebrae
2 broken toes
broken ankle
shattered knee with reconstructive surgery performed on 7-9
right hand is about useless as I had a puncture wound that partially severed my carpal nerve bundle (unknown if feeling will come back)
torn rotator cuff
deep gash in my leg

That's about it lol.

I am home now, and have a hospital room set up in my basement. PT, OT, and nurses come here, and I have only been out of the house twice so far. I am healing but, as you can imagine, the combination of injuries is pretty hard to deal with.

The good news is that all the kids got to safety. there is no bad news. :D

So glad to hear that you are back home and on the road to recovery. The alternative is unthinkable.
Bottom line is that you and your family are still celebrating every day together.
Good luck, and a speedy recovery is wished for you.

That is the best news I have heard today, your back home with your family. It also sounds like you still have your sense of humor (about the injuries). Glad everything is working out. I know you will be back on your feet and looking over those girls again in no time at all. God bless and a speedy recovery.

let me know how i can help once i'm up and about. if, in the course of my radiation and chemo, i'm not feeling like hell, i will gladly take a road trip down your way to lend a helping hand around the house or the boat. i'm happy to assist.
