HIN # confusion
I am a newbe on this site and am very happy to find such a informative site on the mighty Trojan. I need assistance on information on a couple of Trojans I have, one 1967 33ft. and one 1966 31ft. I am parting out the 33ft. and need to determine the engines in this boat. The HIN # or engine numbers doesnt correspond with any numbers listed on this site. I would need these numbers to determine the model of boat and the displacement of these motors because I will be selling them. The HIN number is 93-7002 and the engine # are: RH) - FUW 36R 733507 and LH) - FUW 35L 732538. I believe the motors are 289's and the valve covers are printed with 210 Horsepower powered by Trojan Interceptor. These #'s were taken from the AC/DC panel plate. The confusing part is that there are only two prefix numbers in the HIN#. I am currently rebuilding and repairing the hull on my '66 31ft. and I need the model of this boat as well (But I dont have the HIN # with me at the moment (but will supply it tomorrow) Any help would be very much appreciated.

Definetly a Ford V8, most likely a 289. Also, at least on expansion plug has been replaced too.
Hopefully you can get the HIN figured out soon. Good luck.

Yep, they're 289's. Hull # are correct too. Mine is 95-7015. You really should replace the whole transom instead of pieceing it in, you need the strength back there plus the seam will show. You may find the hull # stamped in the keel near the v-bunk, I can't remember for sure but I know the weight is stamped in the keel.
They'll pry a rotten plank from my cold dead fingers before i go "Tupperware". http://www.photobucket.com/restless

Thank you for the info 1967 Seavoyager. Very much appreciated. I was seriously considering replacing the whole transom and still may do that but at the time , I was looking to just get it in the water ASAP and with the cost of 1/2in grade A Marine plywood I was looking at couple hundred just for wood. Unfortunately I am on a tight budget. It cost me $80.00 just for that little piece. But you are correct for the strength and integrity of the transom but after considering the price and other things I decided to go with this and I have tripled the framing ribs to help with strenghting the assembly. For the seam, I have it almost perfect right now to were I can close my eyes and cannot even tell were the seam is. Plus I will be fiberglassing and fairing it all in. I hope it will not be noticable and I hope it will be strong enough. Thanks again.
