I had that same 220 bpm issue and also had my heart stopped on a couple of occasions in the hospital (on purpose) and had the paddles too. Finally, got the abaltion procedure, up through both legs like you mention. WOW...painless, no more rapid heartbeats and skipping. Think positive! I now feel GREAT. No side effects. Went in for the procedure on a Tue morning left the very next day.Very best of luck to you.

:) Good luck to you from us here on the other side of the globe! I did almost the same job for 16 months ago, took out the heart from my chest, replaced four venes on the heart walls. No complications at all, just pure joy! But I will send my prayers your way.
