Boat Trailer Tires

I know most of you keep your boat in the water but, any recomendations on good boat trailer tires? Thx in advance........ Carl

Load Star tires are the ones that I have

Load Star 14's on my single axle (2006)
Load Star 15's on the double (2008)

Just starting to see dry rot on the singles, some inside tread wear
Thinking about replacing 2 of the 15's for treadwear, no dry rot. Probably logged 12-18k on the 15's with a 5k lb boat

I'm thinking that's pretty good.

the trailer i bought the boat with had nanco 225/75d/15. ive heard that they are a crappy tire and i need to replace as the dry rot is setting in. Ive been told to stay away from radial tires. How about carlisle tires?

We been selling Carlisle trailer tires for years with good results, the radial versus bias ply discussion will go on for years but most of the tires we sell are radials ( probably 90% ), I have had both on trailers over the years I think that a bias ply seems to have a little more stiffness in the side wall and if you have a single axle trailer it may tend to sway a little more with radials but do not cheap out on the load range rating more is better as for as I am concerned.

Thx for the input ... my trailer is 2 axle with a load bearing of 6000 lb Like Mike stated a bias ply is what most guys around here have said to go with. The heat and saltwater can surely dry rot a tire quicker down here.
