New dash / gauges

Decided on what gauges I'm going to go with and finalized the layout now as well. Also decided to use teak for the dash. Gauges will be Faria Dress White.

2 - tach's with hour meters
2 - 4 in 1 with fuel, volts, water temp & oil pressure
2 - fuel managers
1 - speedometer
1 - engine synchronizer
1 - clock
1 - rudder angle

and my favourite, center dash...Trojan logo

Looks like a nice setup. I replaced my gauges with Faria Chesapeake White SS gauges. I really like the way Faria gauges look, and the customer service I experienced was first class. I definitely recommend Faria for anyone considering replacing their gauges. Just make sure the gauges match the senders and/or replace the senders.

with the Pursuit dash, I about doubled the dash panel with out taking away from the original style, or obstructing the view out the windshield or of the compass

I cant wait to take on the upper helm station

I love how you moved the switches to two rows of six and used a combination instrument to save space. Just looking at the chart plotter makes me salivate. Since I boat primarily in a river, it's difficult to justify the cost, but they sure look cool!

Tom, where did you get the material/panel the gages are mounted to?

I picked up a roll of carbon fiber cloth off of ebay 24"x10' a few years ago. Its laminated with west systems epoxy resin.

I cut 2 pieces of CF cloth, and 2 pieces of regular fiberglass cloth.

I mixed up some west systems.

This is where you need an extremely understanding wife.

we had recently purcheased new laminate counter tops for our kitchen. At the time, they had not been installed.

I cleaned and waxed the laminate surface, and painted the west systems right on the new top (was set on saw horses)

then the two layers of CF, followed by the 2 layers of glass cloth.

then I placed another piece of brand new laminate counter top on top of the wet mix adn weighted it with 200lbs for 24 hrs.

24 hrs later it popped right off. She was amazed, and my life was spared!

After that, it was wet sanded with 320 grit and then cleared with automotive clear coat and baked at 200* for 4 hrs.

You can take a huge short cut by ordering pre made panels off of ebay. I had the cloth for another project that never came to be.

As stated before, that's an iPad showing how much room was gained. I cut the op of the dash right off and raised it 3", then moved the face out 1". Ill dig up some more pics. Ill find some before and after pics of the boat if anyone is interested.

popasmirf- if youhavent got your gauges yet. check ebay!!!!! I cant say enough about it!

I got a dhas from a 26 stripper with twin I/Os for 125 delivered when I did my dash ( about 18 mos ago)
that was 2 tachs W/ built in hour meters, 2 multi gauges, 1 sync, 1 spedo and 1 fuel gauge.

I am now looking for a similar deal. (custom marine liquidators or great lakes skipper)

All new stuff, never installed and ready to go!!!!!!!

great pricing as apposed to buying local.
