my good friends and marina neighbors, mike and cathy kulp were on their boat and i engaged them in conversation when i arrived shortly before noon today. ''how about taking the tri cabin out for a spin?" since it was such a beautiful day i thought they would not mind if they were not busy. they said yes and after i phoned another friend of mine on the other side of the marina, we were all set. i had assembled a crew for a short cruise to stretch her legs and make me feel a tad better. engines/genset purring away in the bilge warming up, cathy and jerry took care of the bow and springs (cathy is amazing when she handles lines ) and mike taking care of the stern. within minutes enterprise was free and clear and we headed out towards middle river. rounding the point where 6mph is no longer required, i advanced her throttles as she jumped on plane and settled in for bit of a run. she settled at 3200rpm and 18.5-19.7mph. she felt smooth and sure as she rode every wake, every swell, just heading out towards the bay. i never felt better. my beautiful boat, a beautiful day, my 3 closest friends at my side, what could be better. dodging crab pots we headed towards pools island. circumnavigating pools, we headed back to parkside. after she was secure back in her slip i did a few post arrival checks then began to square her away. all in all she performed like a champ and i think she likes 3000-3200. i love the way she rides. solid and sure and secure. enjoy the pics.
a special thank you shout out to mike and cathy kulp and jerry. you made a nice day even nicer.

i tell ya what paul, it was just way too nice a day NOT to take advantage of mike and cathy's boating class. the weather was absolutely perfect for it.
and let me tell you, those retuned props make all the difference in the world. absolutely no vibration whatsoever and she just responds so well. the bigger rudders (standard on the tri cabin) are a huge difference from the 32 i had. she responds to a turn effortlessly.

and let's not forget the props!! it was such a fantastic day tony. due to my never ending fatigue level (will my energy EVER return?) though, i was quite exhausted when i got home. i grabbed a quick shower and had some take out then the next thing i knew i awoke 3 hrs later. i did rest comfortably though, which has been rare these days.
