as far as the "L" shape in the sofa, you'll have to have a pretty skinney sofa to get any sort of defined "L". plus, Like mentioned before, directly below is one of the two large engine hatches,

I can say, I have the same layout and it works. The only item we don't ever use is the dinette. Seems we would rather eat outside or in the salon. I have a double reclining sofa and use folding chairs (will be getting real chairs soon) in the salon and it works great!
