I have not, he has receipts for them being new from Jasper, risers look new. Trying to find a good used trailer is tough from 190 miles away, or even locally at the moment.summer storm wrote:Hi genmil, Trying to pick the boat up for 5k? It is listed on Craigslist here in south Florida for 4k. This boat has been for sale for a long time, have you heard the engines run?

Heck, for the price of a clean used trailor, why not just have boat shipper, load it and move it the 190 miles? You can call around and find a carrier who is coming back empty possibly and transport your boat for a song...problem solved.

I have a 78 F30 as you can see by the picture.
My height is 14 feet.
My understanding with towing the 30 foot trojans with a bridge is that the bridge needs to come off which is a major poject.
Just be careful with the height - hitting a tree could cause thousands of damages!

I have a 71 f-26 which is a lot smaller than your clean machine. DO NOT TRAILER IT. 108 inches is legal federal width for towing in the entire US you are 3 foot wider and as far as height goes 14 feet is max height without over height and over weight permits. Heck some states require escort cars to tow that big a boat. My boat cant be towed legally without permits yours is a lot bigger.
Pay a boat hauler to do it. This is not a boat you want to be towing around.
and if something does happen in transit its his insurance not yours.
the going rate is ROUND TRIP $4 a mile.

13'6" is the limit in most states ,incl FLA where the tow will happen , he knows about the permets for a wide load and should be below 13'6
With that said its still a lot of boat to tow and if it was me I would hire a pro or go by water ( if possable )

I agree with Paul, run it over on her own bottom. You could take half of the shipping fees and haul, pressure wash, and paint the bottom. The other half can be used for fuel. It would be a trip you soon won't forget and you will get to know the boat. Besides, I think you will need to clean the bottom up anyway before you put it on a trailer.

The last year that the F-30 clean Machine was made was 1979. NADA boat guide shows the weight at 8100 lbs which I believe is the dry weight.

Well, better for me. I like the 10 meter setup and beam. Yes I know it sucks more gas but my near term goal would be a pair of diesels for it.prowlersfish wrote:GenMil wrote:Thank you all for the help. I think I found a better boat, starting a thread now

10 meters are nice boats infact very nice , but if you want diesels get ready to spend 80-100k or if you find some good used ones maybe get by under 50k .there is a lot more to it then just swaping engines .GenMil wrote:Well, better for me. The best bet is find a diesel boat if thats what you want , even thought I almost put a set in my F30 clean machine . But along came a F36 and the rest is history .
