Thanks folks..... CP I'll let you know if I bring her up the Hudson.....Nancy, will do, I'm in Burlington every six weeks or so cause I really like the city.....and Aaron thanks.....I'm Trek fan too, but the decisive consideration was that I couldn't imagine going on air and asking for a radio check as "fun palace" or something like that - just couldn't do it LOL - As for the Canadians, I'll post the hull graphic, the maple leaf is quite prominent...

George the pics of tour 32 sent my head in a spin. If I didn't know better I would say that is my 78 when I bought 10 years ago. Even the Clock and Barometer is in the same place [img][/img] Anyway we love our F-32 So much we are re-powering, the old 360s had 3,000 hrs but still ran OK. Just looking for more speed and fuel economy.

Larry, that is absolutely immaculate.
How did you treat the teak?
Corian counters?
As for the repower what are you considering? I will likely have to consider one (or a rebuild) in two to three years. My options are to bite the bullet and go diesel, rebuild, or go with something like lower hp engines. I keep thinking about future fuel economy as I'm not confident that gas prices will maintain their present levels.

i will never forget the first time i called the fuel dock to request assistance using the name ENTERPRISE. dead silence on the other end until i repeated it. they must have had a good laugh that day, but hey, i'm the one in the center seat so to speak.georgepet wrote:Thanks folks..... Thanks for the complement, First of all I striped all the old teak oil off with Jacsco premium epoxy remover, then sanded with 220 until smooth. I know most say not to use varnish on teak but I am an old cabinet maker by trade and have always liked high gloss varnish. Anyway I used Man of War High Gloss Varnish throughout the entire boat Inside and out 7 coats sanding with 320 between coats. The interior has 8 years on it and still looks like the day I applied it. The exterior railing, ladder, Swim Step and trim, I touch up about every 3 years. The trick is when you start to see a little dullness, fading or moisture intrusion just sand it out and give it a coat or two. Much less up keep then Oil and looks so much better. My old 78 is moored next to brand new boats but everyone stops to take a look at the old gal and comments on the beautiful wood.

To answer the other questions, I am currently repowering with fuel injected 350s I found a pair of 270 hp with tranies that an old fellow had perchased in 1993 and installed in a old wood boat he was refurbishing but never finished. The engines were stored properly in heated storage and appear as if they came of the showroom floor yesterday. The gas Hob I refurbished in 2005 and the counters are fake granite, real granite is too heavy. To make along story short I have been restoring the old gal for 10 years piece by piece and very close to being finished. My plan is to post a before and after story after the engines are completed. So keep posted for comming attactions, FYI I do have a pair of 360s complete with tranies and the port engine has a brand new top end new manifolds for sale.
