Congratulations on the simple fix! It's a great day (and also an unusual day) when you can fix something for free.

Prowler
well I can tell you that it is good business to be honest about things like that with customers, you may pull one over but in the long run , honesty with customers is always the best policy. I have been faced many times with that scenario and I have always come clean, it pays off at the end. Keeping customers is always the first priority , they come back and thats what matters

I agree with Alexander. Yes they are not all crooks, it has been my experience that many mechanics, technicians etc make honest mistakes, I know when I ran an HVAC business it happened a couple of times in 7 years and I ate the cost with a smile and appology. That is not usually the case with service providers and many are just not properly experienced to tackle problems and when you talk to them you need to be very informed, and if you are informed you can do it yourself and you know it will get fixed or at least the blame will rest with you.

Ergo, usually do it myself.
