just behind the most forward compartment. From using this pump on top of the forward section last year and not being able to get lower, I felt best compartment was the second from the front...I am either at or lower than the lowest section...I think anyhow. Once I am in the water Iwill be able to comment more, but felt this was the best spot based on water levels in the compartments last year. When I strarted this, where this pump sitts currently, I had 1.5 to 2.5 of inches of water, and after this pump there was a quarter of an inch here and a little more up front. Now I had two bad fuel tanks mid ship, so now that those are going back in, I am expecting a shift in the water and hope I picked the right spot...only time will tell.
Interesting. Mine seems lowest in the stateroom bilge, but if you were able to pp out some flooring in the galley floor (by the head), then this little pump might be the ticket.
By coincidence, one of my 2 auto-pumps int he forward section died last week, so I need another anyway.
What is the rating on that pump? I was using a smaller Rule-Mate 1100GPH as the primary pump, and a 2500GPH pump as the backup.

I think if I remember is is 650 gph...and I also put in the check valve in the hose. I also have a rule that is up there and that one is an 1100, but never ran after I put this in...and then in the back a 2000 rule, and I may put one of these in the back as well so when I cruise I may get more out...
And you may be right, I may be moving it back up front. I do know that I never got much below that sub floor in the bilge...I could see the water coming up with two little pilot holes I had in there before...

You cut that little section out to the keel there on yours ?
Does that pump have a good strainer/screen on it. The Rule-Mate 1100 that just die don me had a poor screen which let junk in and it jammed (apparently) Hard to turn and won't start now, so I've got to replace ...
65 here today - good time to work on boats!

Yes, I did cut that hole....easy I used a small reciprocating saw and went slow.
The strainer seems good, no issues and I have been really cleaning up the bilge so don't have much floating around...I actually dump the left over deck wash each week down the back hatch and let is run through, and also hose it down back there a lot, so lots of movement...
It is adjustable, not bad. I tried to adjust is a little differently today and found that the best way for it to sit is how I have it pictured...tried to move the hose to the other side and could kinda do what what I wanted so yes it is flexible. The strainer can be turned 360 degrees so that is great. And it sucks way down on the water...I would get the check valve because there is a lot of water that comes back in after it stops without it...
Any of you guys near Huntington Beach Ca that could help me get started with this keel bilge stink fix? Just acquired a 77 F32 and its in amazing condition withe very low hours but I can't get rid of the stink.
I will just throw this in because it happened to me. Your through hull likely is the type that has a tightening wing nut on the left side to snug up the valve when it is in the open position. If this is loose, water will leak though the seacock. I may be stating the obvious here,..or, maybe not.
