Calling All NY / NJ Hudson River Members

Post by risctaker »

I'm looking for less expensive summer season dockage along the Hudson River . Would consider anything south of the I-84 crossing (Newburgh) The closer to NYC the better but cost is the primary consideration. Anyone knowing of marinas that you consider reasonably priced, that info would be much appreciated.

"Basket Case" is staying where she is at Lincoln Harbor. I am living aboard , renovating her and commuting 1/2 hr across the Hudson to work every day. The dockage I am looking for is to move my 31' Flybridge Express out of Norwalk Cove Marina where it has just become too expensive to stay there. Plus the time and gas to travel up I-95 to get to Norwalk.CT. The 31' Express is my fully operational boat that I've had pre-basket case.

Now I am confused . your trying to get baskit case running so you you can move it 3 miles , but now you say its staying ? :?

Why not keep both boats at the same place ?

The move of "Basket Case" for 3 miles is to get it hauled and the bottom done. Lincoln Harbor is not a full service marina. Due to it's location directly across from midtown Manhattan, the slip rates there are high so I am looking for a cheaper place further up the Hudson to keep my other boat. Trying to save on dockage fees. The drive up the Hudson on weekends would not be prohibitive.

I'm not sure what happen I type a long post about all the marinas on the Hudson and it disappeared. Bottom line if your are interested in moving to Rockland let me know I know every marina in the area and would be happy to show you around if you would like. Pricing ranges from about $75-107 per foot plus utility fees.

Sent me an email if you want some help and I give you my number.

Thanks! Audrey (girlfriend - not boat) and I would be happy to get some assist. I have until June 15th to get the 31' out of Norwalk Cove Marina. I see Stony Point advertised all the time. I also had a boat in Havershaw many years ago. They really spruced that marina upscale!. Thanks for the offer to help. I'll be contacting you when it gets a bit warmer and I get closer to launching the boat in Norwalk. Steve.

Looking for "Audrey II" (Dave). I have gotten a price from Haverstraw marina for $75/ft for this season. I see from your Avatar that you are at Stony Point nearby? can you offer a comparison in price / amenities between both places? Looking to make a decision soon. Thanks.

Sorry I didn't mean to leave you hanging for so long (yes 2 years is a long time). What did you decide to do? I moved to Haverstraw marina last year and I have been very happy there I'm curious if you made the move and if you happen to be a dock mate?
