Antenna fun

Post by Diverted Income »

This weekends project was to replace the broken Shakespeare 4018 antenna. Cross that off the list! No more dangling broken antenna hanging off the boat! Still lots to keep me busy.

Hey D I,
You can keep your boat in the water in northern Iowa? I'm surprised. Must have to keep heat in the engine room? Bubblers around the boat?
I'm not that much further north from you, Stillwater, Mn. and people are driving there cars on the river here!

Some people keep their boats in all winter here. If the engines are winterized it doean't matter if its in the water or on the hard. It gets cold as a witch's tit here in the Adirondack winter, and there is a big 'Dancer in the water a few houses up from me. He has a few ice eaters in around it. The other day I noticed the spray from the churn of the ice eaters was building up a big ol' ice ball on the bow at the waterline from a strong wind that was blowing that day. That would bother me if it was mine.

Boat is currently sitting just North of St. Louis. If it was in Iowa it would be out for sure. Gotta move her North this spring.
