I bought a book several years ago called "The Fiberglass Boat Repair Manual" by Allan H. Vaitses published by International Marine, Camden Maine It is a guide to cosmetic and structural repairs to fiberglass boats
It has 9 chapters: 168 Pages Chapters are as follows:
1) Materials and Construction
2) Restoring the surface finish
3) The art of fiberglassing
4) Fractures, small holes and delamintaions
5) Dealing with core problems
6) Rebuilding Large Holes and Shattered areas
7) Undercured, Resin-Rich, and Cooked laminates
8 Repairing Keels and Other Underwater Parts
9) Troubles on the Deck
I purchased this awhile back at E&B Marine, now West Marine. I'm sure there are other books similar to this as well which you could pick up. I think I paid around $25 for it Hope it helps and good luck,

Good book. I own a copy myself. Very good at the basics.
You can repair from the inside or outside and in some cases where extreme loads are involved, I do both sides. In your case, just from the outside should be fine and will be the easiest as far as access goes.
Unfortunately, your repairs are in tough spots (at the lifting strakes and chine). Becasue these areas are at hardcorners in the mold, they tend to be heavy on the gelcoat right at the crease. You might have to build them up a litle heavy and grind the profile in to have any real strength on the ridge. I hope that makes sense.

How did you make out with finding the fiberglass repair book and the west system repair manuals? I PM'd you about. Also have you looked into any Chrysler marine engine repair or overhaul manauls for your year engines? or do have a mechanic helping you? I got your info I will give you a call or send you an e-mail when I am getting ready to remove the engines, I did find the west system book I got that one and it seems to have alot of info but as far as the engines I am still not sure what I am doing either way I need to remove them, but I'm not sure if I want to rebuild them or even replace them with straight six. but I will be in touch and thanks.
