I have used Mas... found it worked well with good use time.
Not used West personally but my buddy always does.

I built a boat -- okay, so it was a canoe, from 3 mm plywood that was covered with epoxy / varnish on the inside, and epoxy / glass / paint on the outside. I used MAS and had no problem. If you use the slow hardener, you don't have amine blush to deal with. The almost-local build-your-own-boat store has a bazillion kits that they use MAS exclusively. Google Chesapeake Light Craft if you are so inclined.

No experience with West System, but I would expect any name-brand epoxy to work just fine on whatever. Just pick a manufacturer and stay with them. And calibrate your pumps to verify their accuracy before you start.
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

Thats one reason I am looking at Mas is no blush ,But I also see West has a no blush hardener (207) .

Also looking at AeroMarine 300/21 epoxy .

I have used west system for years and other then blush its been great . Just have never used the 207 before .

I've used both and they both have their benefits. Mas seems to be more flexible than West and I believe you can gel over Mas but it's not something you should do over West. West has stuck with their chemistry for years where Mas has changed up to accomodate most needs. Having said that, for some work West is best. Personally, and this is based on what someone familiar with epoxy chemistry told me, I would not choose a product based on the blush factor. The amine blush is a by-product of the chemical reaction inherant in all epoxy cures. Some may have less of a blush than others or claim to have none but one would be wise to treat all epoxies as having a blush by prepairing the surface as you would with a regular epoxy prior to applying any finish. And remember, you wash it off not sand it off. Sanding it first will imbed it into the epoxy and compromize your finish coat.

Here's another place that sells epoxy.

http://www.uscomposites.com/epoxy.html

I have used their 2 part foam and it worked well. Never used their epoxies though. Good prices, even with shipping...

Paul,

I encourage you to try epoxyproducts.com. You've seen the work that I've done, and all the material came from them. His name is also Paul. You can call him, he's like you and Bob, walking catalogs of info. Kind of a quirky website.
