Re: bottom paint
If you use my info you have to give me one of your Sweet 16's !!!!!
Doubt that is going to happen, so here's the info anyways... For inland waterways, I think Interlux CSC Micron is the best formulation. I think you guys in the US have access to CSC Micron Extra (we can't get Extra up her for environmental reasons), but with that you will put on 2-3 coats at a point in time. It is 'ablative' meaning that the paint washes away over time (think of a bar of soap that gets smaller the more it is used; and any critters or algae who decide to stick to it get washed away when they paint they stuck to washes away). Put 2-3 coats on, and depending on how much running you do it will be 2-4 years before any additional coats are needed.
I applied coat 1 using green paint.... coats 2 & 3 were black. After haulout if I see green in any areas, those spots are low and need a splotch or two of black over top - but only those spots ..... not the whole bottom. If no green shows through, no top-up required! Some areas of the hull get more water flow (or more aggressive water flow) than others, and those are the areas that will need recoating earlier.

+1 CM. The best type to use IMO. No more hard layers to sand or scrape off over time. Keep in mind that power washing will remove some of the coating. Simply rinse off any loose growth with a garden hose. No more worries about application vs launch times as it reactivates no matter how long ago it was last painted or wet. Put on several extra layers at the leading and trailing edges; bow and stern as they will thin out the fastest.

++1, But I have a hard coat on her too, Due to not wanting to sand it all off. Maybe next winter I'll change her over to wash away paint......Thinking White ? with a Navy Blue Hull...

Re: bottom paint
You can put ablative over hard paint . Just can't do the opposite
