1978 F 36 flybridge help

thinking of getting one.
I know it is 35 yrs old but trojans are a good boat.I know I will have it surveyed but you have to expect something negative from the surveyer.
At what point do I say forget it?
deck rot or fly bridge rot.
anything I should look for-I will only use it on weekends mostly.
I could go newer but I wouldn't want to buy newer and more $$$ and end up going there myself on weekends.
My kids are grown and married and would come down on some weekends. Maybe it will be used for medium cruising of seneca or cayuga lake. Just to relax at the dock also. Anything anybody can help me out with-I would appreciate it.

It all depends on what the marine survey says.

But Trojans hold up very very well compared to other brands.

The 36 is a nice model.

Like anything that age. Decks and stringers. Any problems with either should show up in a proper survey.

36 is a great boat. Nice for the area you mentioned too. I was looking at both 32's and 36's but the 32 came along first.

+1 on the decks and stringers. We've had our F36 the past 5 seasons, fantastic boat. If you are handy, and like to tinker, there is nothing wrong with a 35yr old boat, our is 40yrs old now... Good luck!

First you need a good surveyor. Wayne Robinson is the best around here. 315-689-6854 After you get it in the water, come down the Seneca River & stop at J&S & say hello.
