Trojan 74 F32 Damper Replacement
Lost my vibration damper today (I think, have not pulled apart yet), found part of spring in bilge earlier. Anyone done this repair before? Not sure of model numbers? (Borg Warner Velvet drive) Any recc's on damper upgrades available from OEM?
When I first read the question, I thought you were referring to the pully damper. Do you mean the damper plate that couples the flywheel to the transmission? I think you need to identify the engine, not just the transmission.
I never replaced a broken one, but I swapped the damper plate from my old LM 318 to a rebuilt long block. I don't have any photos, but I think the bell housing has to come off. The hardest part will probably be getting the transmission and bell housing unbolted if it's been sitting a long time. If space it tight, you may be better off lifting the engine up out of the boat to work on it.

You can talk to them on the phone. They've been helpful to me. They answered my question and shipped as promised.
Good Luck,
Chuck

74 f32 vibration Damper
Chuck, thanx for the info, yes its the vibration damper between flywheel and transmission. Yes, twin Chrysler 318's. Other web part sources did not mention chrysler compatibility. Your link does. looks like the OEM #120-8-1446 And AS8-K2C should do the job.
