Trojan F 36 came today-dfg4240
Hi;
I guess being new to the forums and big boats-I made a few mistakes posting which I screwed up some of my replies and may have upset someone,so it looks like maybe this is not the place for me.
I was new to this type of posting and some were out of sequence.
The good news is that the boat arrived today and is at Barretts marina on the seneca-cayuga canal.
It took three days to come from lake erie-up the canal system to rochester which is 70 miles and then another 60 or so miles to get to the marina.
I think it goes to Cayuga lake and then enter the seneca - cayuga -canal system which has another four locks and go back west 20 miles or whatever.I got onboard on that leg of the trip.
I will post pics tomorrow.The boat is in beautiful shape. The water was high on the canal and loaded with surface clutter.They went through 10 locks Yesterday and on the canal the speed limit is very low with some no wake areas-so it was a slow go most of the way and one bridge was to low and they had to drop the flybrige canvas to get under.I forgot which bridge was low but it began with an L .All the lift bridges and locks close at 5PM so where you are at that time is where you will start the next day.
Sorry if I was a pain in the posts but what I said was true. the first boat (bayliner).the owner reconsidered and wanted to keep it in the family and the second happened just like I said-Even though she turned out to be legitimate-it just seemed like to much of a hassle to get the boat here even if we made a deal. I'm so excited right now and I have a ton of manuals and notes to go through.This owner kept records of everything about the boat for ten years.

Hi and welcome, I am not familiar with what you are referring to here, but dont take anything to serious, it is always hard to tell someones tone in these electronic words. Congrats on the new boat, I was hoping to buy an F-36 , that fell through and i now have a Silverton 37dfg4240 wrote:Hi;

Hey,
You're down in my neck of the woods. I was thinking of taking my 10.8 to Barretts for a home, since I live in canandaigua. Its currently on Irondequoit Bay. Welcome to the Trojan world!!!

I fished the Seneca lake last year and you know it is loaded with trout but might slip over to Cayuga now that I can get there easily.Commissionpoint wrote:Nice!

I'm heading out to go eat dinner on one of the Islands here. Its too nice to do anything else. What a lucky 2 weeks we have had in northern NY with the weather. I'm sure its been nice out by the Finger Lakes too. It reached 83 here today!

Nice Boat! Congrats. What town do you live in? Why not keep it up in Sodus and fish the big lake???? I live just about equal distance from Barretts, Sodus, and Cayuga Lake marinas that are down in Union Springs. I fished all three Lakes a lot and now prefer to chase the big dogs up in Lake O out of Sodus. Cayuga always gave me the most action though. It is LOADED with Lakers and LL Salmon.
Re: Trojan F 36 came today-dfg4240
I live in pittsford ny
I had boats stored down that way before-twice on the genesee river near the lake.
Too many problems down there for me. Lots of logs come down that river in spring and some are submerged plus vandalism.
Not for me anymore unless maybe Shumway Marina-They are well lit up.
I stored my boat one year down on the left side just before the bridge and someone broke into about ten boats and they ripped out equiptment with crow bars etc etc. Radios and Gps and tools etc etc.
No more for me down there.

Never caught anything good there-only fished it a few times and shallow.
Any vandalism down there.
