Well it is official, I now own a 1977 F-26 express fly bridge. (261) 233 mercruiser 351 ford, 1:1 velvet drive swinging a 14 x 9 double cup.
I debated whether to commission a survey , however I am glad I did as it found several deficiencies that I was able to build into the purchase price. Good surveyors are well worth the cost!!
Part of researching for the purchase was running across this forum. Several of the members have been invaluable in helping educate me me and I feel blessed to have found this community. Such a vast amount of knowledge and willingness to share is not the norm!
We are having several things done before we splash at the end of the month and will have "significant" deck re-coring activities starting in October. I think I am almost looking forward to returning this classic to great condition as I am to enjoying her on the water.

she is a beauty!! and a special edition to boot (the teak toe rails and cover boards were an option during the model run)
mazel tov on your purchase, and i know she will be loved and cared for. trojans have a way of working their way into your heart and one cannot help but bring them back to life. she looks like she was equipped for some heavy duty fishing too from the amount of rocket launchers (did i get that one right?)

Sadly, I have enough rods to fill all available space in the launchers and deck.
We are located on Lake Michigan out of Kewaunee WI and will be primarily fishing for Salmon and Trout. With a full crew on board(6) we can run 18 lines. Just NO SHARP TURNS!
Gladd to hear about the toe rails and cover boards. I was wondering if they were added afterwards as I have not seen this on many Trojans. There are quite a few F32's and F36's in service around us for Charter Fishing. A friend owns 6 ( 5 F36 and 1 F32) and none of them have wood. It will be some extra maintenance but well worth the effort.
teak toe rails and coverboards were indeed an extra option. when mom and dad placed the order for our 1972 tri cabin, they had the teak swim platform, toe rails, cover boards and a shore water hookup added. for a fiberglass boat, there was a hell of a lot of teak on that boat. the cockpit and aft deck were also teak, but that was standard. the teak rails and boards really set your vessel apart from the rest of the pack. enjoy.

Thanks Paul! The hull has been painted, bottom was stripped several years ago and hull got three coats and 7 coats with barrier below waterline.
Now I'm waiting for winter to give the cabin the "Paul" finish. you will most likely get sick of me asking how you got yours so beautiful! (Starting with the teak and holly floor).
I have cabin envy every time I see pictures of yours!
