Propspeed mid cabin

Post by BobCT »

I am trying the propspeed coating this year and will update this in the fall when I get hauled. The smallest kit was $200 and 200ml. That was enough to do the props, shafts, struts and engine/ac intake scoops. I had a little left over, maybe enough to do the bottom of the trim tabs.

I think we waited too long for the clearcoat application on the port side(more a note for me).

I use prop speed on the big boat It seems to work but we still need to have a diver brush the props every 90 days.

We have applied prop speed to a few of our customers boats with different results. The charter boat fleet likes it, but they use their boats on a daily basis. For our week-end boaters, it is a different story. We have seen that a diver on a regular scheldule is required. Here in the Florida panhandle, most of the places where we boat is shallow and we all stir up some sand. If the prop speed gets 'nicked', it becomes useless. I do'nt use it. I save the cash and put it in the divers pocket

Prop speed works very well but it is costly . the more you use the boat the better it works .
I use Pettit Zinc Coat my self with very good results . And alot less costly . I boat in the mid Atlantic area mostly low Va.
